Share your portfolio
Mint an anonymised, read-only link to your collection's headline numbers — total value, bottle count, top bottle and mover — without ever exposing your full holdings or purchase prices, and revoke it whenever you want.
Your collection is private by default. When you want to show it off — to a fellow collector, in a forum, on social — you can mint a single read-only share link that reveals only your headline numbers, anonymised. No account is needed to view it, and you can disable it at any time.
Prerequisites
- A wsky1 account with at least one bottle in your portfolio — see Getting started or Import your collection. An empty collection shares as £0 / 0 bottles.
Turn sharing on
Sharing lives top-right on your portfolio (My cellar, /app/portfolio), alongside Import and + Add bottle.
- Click Make shareable. wsky1 mints a random token and turns your collection into a public page at
/share/<token>. - Click 📎 Copy share link to copy the full URL (it briefly shows Copied!). Paste it anywhere.
- To stop sharing, click Disable sharing — the link goes dead immediately (see Rotate or revoke).
The token is a 32-character random hex string (for example /share/3f9a…), so the link is unguessable — the URL itself is the only key. Anyone who has it can view the card; anyone who doesn't can't find it.
What the shared card shows
The public page renders your collection's headline figures only, all anonymised:
| On the card | Detail |
|---|---|
| Your name | First name + last initial only — e.g. Jane D. (just your first name if you have no last name; Collector as a fallback) |
| Portfolio value | The total estimated value of the bottles you still own, in GBP — the same figure your own portfolio headlines |
| Bottle count | How many bottles you're tracking |
| Top bottle | Your single highest-value bottle, by latest hammer price, linking to its public price page |
| Top mover | The bottle in your collection with the biggest hammer-price move over the past week, shown as a +/-% pill |
Sold bottles are excluded from both the value and the count, so the shared total matches the estimated value of what you currently hold — see Manage your collection.
What it never shows
The card is deliberately minimal. It never reveals:
- Your full bottle list — only the single top bottle and top mover are named.
- Your purchase prices, cost basis, or P&L — none of your cost data leaves your account.
- Your full name, email, or account — only first name + last initial.
Sharing is strictly opt-in. wsky1 never publishes anonymised portfolios on its own, sells collector lists, or shares your holdings with auction houses.
Example
Once sharing is on, your link looks like this and needs no account to open:
https://wsky1.com/share/3f9ac1e07b5d42a8c6e1f0b9d8472a15
Post it to a forum or social platform and it unfurls with a generated preview card — a rendered image baking in your portfolio value, bottle count, and top-mover pill (served from /og/share/<token>), with a title like:
Jane D.'s whisky portfolio — £3,400
Rotate or revoke
- Revoke: click Disable sharing. The token is cleared from your account and
/share/<token>returns Not found on the next load — the old link is dead for good. - Rotate: disable sharing, then click Make shareable again. That mints a brand-new token — the previous URL stays dead, and only the new link works. Rotate whenever you want to cut off an old link you've already posted.
Notes & limits
- Caching. The shared page and its preview image are cached for up to ~10 minutes, so a freshly revoked link (or a just-changed value) can linger briefly in a cache before it updates.
- Values track your portfolio. The card is rebuilt from live data on view — as your bottles revalue daily, the shared numbers move with them. See Valuation & confidence bands for how each bottle's value is built.
- One link per account. Sharing is a single toggle on your whole collection, not per-bottle. To share one bottle's public auction data instead, use the Share control on that bottle — it points at the bottle's public price page, not your portfolio.
